The "Snooze Trend"
Everyday we go through life often with more than our fair share of stressful moments. It could be the rough commute to work, broken elevators that forces us to take multiple flights of stairs, or workloads that seem to be getting heavier the longer you stay in the company. All this can make anyone, young or old, really tired and after a long tiring day the right rewards seems to be a nice warm bed and plenty of sleep.
But sometimes we have days where we just can't quite get to sleep no matter how much we want to. We try to sleep as early as possible but the exact opposite happens. We end up drifting on and off of sleep until the alarm sounds off and we wake up with quite possibly the worst headache ever. You get up anyway, prepare for work, and load up on caffeine chewables just to get you ready for work and another bout of fatigue, headache, and weariness.
While being sleepless seems to be an ordinary "trend" now you shouldn't really think of it as something normal. You have to know how to solve sleep disorders or your body suffers. You may not feel it right now but in a few months your body will give in to the lack of proper sleep and you may end up in a hospital bed.
The Importance of Sleep
There are plenty of underlying reasons as to why you can't sleep well but before that let's first know why sleep is important for us. Here are 3 of them.
Recovery
Without a doubt sleep is the best and most efficient way the body can recover. It replenishes lost energy, rebuilds worn tissue, and makes sure our immune system is working at its best.
Stress relief
Stress has become one of the world's leading causes of death and living in a fast-paced world can definitely take its toll on anyone. Sleep helps us recover from stress as it focuses on making sure the body functions optimally the next day.
In fact, sleep is such a good stress reliever it can even help lessen the pain and discomfort felt if you get injured.
Healthier weight
You may not believe it but sleep can actually help you get a healthy weight. It has to do with how you're more likely to crave for food when you're sleep deprived than when you had a good night's rest. It also plays a role in improving your weight loss attempts specially when you're obese.
